AFFCU Donates to the Helping Up Mission

AFFCU Employees Assemble And Donate Hygiene Kits To Helping Up Mission

Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union employees used their recent annual training day to put together 150 personal hygiene kits. The kits were donated to the Helping Up Mission Baltimore. Each kit contained essential hygiene items including: shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream and razor, deodorant, and more.

Helping Up Mission provides hope to people experiencing homelessness, poverty or addiction by meeting their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The kits provide a fresh start for those struggling with addiction and homelessness as they enter the mission to begin their recovery. A majority of these individuals enter the mission with only the clothes on their back. These kits are one of the first possessions that they will receive to help them start their journey to recovery.

“We are driven to serve our members and the communities that they live and work in,” said Matthew Piazza, President/CEO of Atlantic Financial Federal Credit Union. “With the growing pandemic of drug abuse and addiction, organizations like the Helping Up Mission are working hard on the front lines to help those struggling get on a path to recovery. The people struggling with these battles are members of our community that need a helping hand. Putting these hygiene kits together and donating to the Helping Up Mission was a way for our team to collaborate in support of this great mission and provide a fresh start to the hundreds of people striving to turn their lives around.”
